Robotics Technician | Zeeland, MI

Salary Range: $54,000 - $86,000 depending on experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Install, set up, and commission industrial robotic systems and peripheral equipment.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance and calibration on robots to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot complex electrical, mechanical, and software issues in robotic cells.
  • Repair or replace faulty components in robotic systems, including end-effectors, sensors, and controllers.
  • Program and re-program robot paths, logic, and teach points for new products or process changes.
  • Collaborate with engineers and production teams to optimize robot performance and improve manufacturing efficiency.
  • Ensure all robotic operations comply with safety regulations and company standards.
  • Document maintenance activities, troubleshooting procedures, and system configurations accurately.

Recommended Qualifications

  • Proficiency in industrial robot programming (e.g., FANUC, KUKA, ABB) and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens) and industrial automation systems.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical aptitude for diagnosing and repairing robotic components.
  • Associate's degree in Robotics, Mechatronics, or a related technical field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance, calibration, and teach point adjustments on robotic systems.

Bonus Qualifications

  • Familiarity with PLC programming (e.g., Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
  • Experience with industrial vision systems setup and troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of industrial networking protocols (e.g., Ethernet/IP, PROFINET).
  • Basic proficiency with CAD software for reviewing robot cell layouts.
  • Certification or specialized training in a specific robot brand (e.g., FANUC, ABB, KUKA).
